Education

Dr.M.Qasim Rafiq did B.ScEngg (Elect), M.ScEngg (Inst), and M.Tech (CSE) from A.M.U in 1973, 1979 and 1986 respectively, Did Ph.D. in Parallel Processing in 1996 from UOR (IIT) Roorkee. Joined the teaching at AMU in 1979 as Lecturer, became Reader in 1987, and Professor in 1997. A founder chairman of the Dep’t served thrice as chairman. Dr Rafiq is an expert member of NBA committee, selection committee to various universities/Public Service Commissions in India, Academic council of different universities and resource person to different places for delivering expert lecturers. Have been external examiner for Ph.D and undergraduate courses to various universities. Has a post doctorate fellow in the area of Software Engineering. Have guided Eight research scholars for Ph.D. and Two are under supervision in the area of parallel computing & security. Published more than Sixty papers in reputed journals/conferences, like Indian Heart Journal, International Journal of Computer Application & International Journal of Computer Science. Has two PATENTS on his research. Fellow IETE, Fellow IE & Senior Member of CSI and Senior Member of IEEE (USA) .Retired as Professor of Computer Engineering in A.M.U , on 31.10.2013 after serving 34 Years 9 Months at A.M.UJoined Mangalayatan University Aligarh as Professor & HoD on 10/7/2014 to 31/5/2015. Presently working in JP University, Anoopshahar(Bulandshahar) as Professor & HoD since 1st June 2015.


Biography

1. Teaching Experience: 33 years at undergraduate as well as post graduate level

Courses Taught ( B.Tech & M.Tech level): Computer Architecture, Computer Communication, Network, Microprocessor and applications, Distributed and Parallel, Microprocessor System & Design, Operating System, Data Base Management System.

  • Professor, Department of Computer Engg. Since 19th March, 1997 till date.
  • Reader, Department of Electronics Engineering: 10 years and 2 month (27.1.87 18.3.97).
  • Lecturer, Department of Electronics Engineering: 8 years (27.1.79 to 26.1.87).
  • As an Expert of NBA committee of AICTE, Delhi.
  • As Expert in the selection committee of different universities and Engineering colleges.
  • As a resource person for delivering Lectures in Induction Training Program in AMU.
  • As a resource person for delivering Lectures in Academic Staff College(UGC Sponsored program) in AMU
  • As course coordinator, Induction Training Program for teachers in technical education.
  • As Expert in the Selection Committee of U.P. Public Service Commission.
  • As Member Academic counsel, Institute of Integral Technology, Lucknow.
  • As resource person for delivering lectures in Summer School for Technical Teachers at Hathras Polytechnic sponsored by ISTE on Basics of BASIC.
  • As resource person for delivering lectures in MCA TTP for technical teachers in Computer Science Department, A.M.U., sponsored by DOE.
