Dr. Jatin Kumar joined Jaypee University, Anoopshahr in December 2022 as assistant professor of Botany in the Department of Life Sciences. He has also worked as assistant professor in the Department of Life Sciences, Sharda University, Greater Noida from September 2020 to December 2022. He has obtained his Ph.D. degree in Botany in 2021 on the topic “Assessment of genetic diversity, population structure, and generation of sex-linked molecular and biochemical markers in some multipurpose dioecious plants” from the Department of Botany, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007. His major research areas include genetic diversity assessment, sex determination in plants employing various molecular markers and plant stress biology. He has worked as a project fellow in a SERB major research project entitled “Marker assisted selection of male and female plants of Simmondsia chinesis (Link) Schneider (Jojoba) – A multipurpose dioecious crop” at Department of Botany, University of Delhi, from July, 2013-January, 2017. He has published over 20 research/ review articles in various reputed international and national journals and submitted 2 novel sex specific sequences to NCBI gene bank. He has attended and presented his research work in more than 25 International/National conferences. He is a life-time member of “The Indian Science Congress Association” (Membership No. L25989), w.e.f. November, 2014.
