B.Sc. in ZBC is a multidisciplinary course, encompassing the core subjects Zoology, Botany and Chemistry, which are the natural sciences regarding study of plants, animals and chemicals. This course provides students an integrated education and help to develop scientific temper, observational skills and analytical ability in the respective domains. It encompasses a comprehensive study of all living beings from cellular, molecular and biochemical levels. The bachelor of ZBC program is offered by Faculty of Life Sciences, in collaboration with the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences.

The B.Sc. ZBC program is designed to provide students a comprehensive knowledge of the core subjects Botany, Zoology and Chemistry. The curriculum offers a solid foundation to carry out higher studies in Biological, Physical and Chemical Sciences. After successful completion of the course, the students will have a chance to enroll in diverse Master’s programs in both core (ZBC) and allied sciences like Computational and Integrative Sciences, Big Data Biology, Bioinformatics, Health Information Management, Biotechnology, Marine Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Forensic Sciences, Genome Engineering, Clinical Embryology, Biophysics, Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Nano sciences, Computational Chemistry and others. Several integrated PhD programs in Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, M.Sc.-PhD in Clinical Research, offered by Institutes of National importance, are also available for the students after completion of the bachelor’s degree. After completing B.Sc. in ZBC, the students can also have a career in Pharmaceutical industry, Chemical plants, Paint industry, Biotechnology industry as QC/QA officer, Industrial Microbiologists, Toxicologists, R&D scientists. Also, they will have job opportunities in academia, research institutes, start-ups related to Greenhouse, Hydroponic setup, animal husbandry (poultry farming), vermicomposting, healthcare, aquaculture and pearl farming and others. Students are also encouraged and supported to be entrepreneurs and innovators. Beside the huge opportunity of private sector, the students can also find opportunities in Government sectors like FSI, CWC, FSSAI, IFS, NTPC, ONGC, BPCL, HURL, zoological gardens and can also apply for positions of veterinary assistant, agriculture officer, forensic pathologists, forensic scientist, environment scientist and other administrative roles in UPSC.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants must have passed the 10+2 examination with Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects and Chemistry / Computer Science. With at least 50% marks in the above subjects, taken together and 50% marks overall.
PLACEMENTS: The students of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics from Jaypee Universities are placed in Nestle India, Novartis, Biocon, Evalueserve, Winglobe Healthcare, Zyla Healthcare and leading biotechnology and biomedical sciences companies. More than 85% of students pursuing biological sciences courses at Jaypee Universities have been placed in the last five years. Also, a large number of students opted for higher studies in India and abroad through GATE and other competitive examinations. B.Sc. (ZBC) students from Jaypee University Anoopshahr, will benefit from the similar opportunities in placement drives.
