WHY FACULTY OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) came into existence with the very inception of Jaypee University in 2014. HSS Department offers a number of core and elective courses for the students of Engineering, Science, Commerce, Arts and Management programmes of the university. Humanities & Social sciences directly involve people and deals with the behaviour of people in their different roles. As social science is the interdisciplinary study of gradual development of human society the department focuses on the interaction among humanities, social sciences, management, engineering, and other science & technology domain that altogether comprise the solution- driven approach in addressing real-world problems. Currently, the Department houses many disciplines such as English Language, Managerial Economics, Project Management, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviour, Finance and Accounting, Managing & Marketing Technology, Entrepreneurial Development, Social &Legal Issues, Customer Relationship Management, Business Analytics, Indian constitution, Indian traditional knowledge. The range of programs in Social Science is its strength. We hope to expand by incorporating other disciplines concerning Humanities and the Social Sciences in the near future. At Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, emphasis is given on the application –oriented knowledge. Hence, presentations, projects and assignments are given utmost importance to produce the most competent, well-rounded and responsible graduates. We believe in preparing students to think creatively, critically and enable them to be relevant in a rapidly changing world. Departmental facilities include English Language Lab. For the fulfillment of its teaching and research goals, the department has competent faculty members in diverse areas, who keep pace with the current developments in their fields of specialization.
